Why You Need a Physical

FastMed clinicians see children and adults to conduct physicals for the following reasons:

  • Sports. A sports physical will determine if it is safe to participate in a sport. Some sports programs require a physical exam, and others recommend them.

  • Camp. Most camps require a physical exam prior to attending the camp.

  • Basic. Even if you feel well and haven’t needed to see a doctor for a while, you should schedule a basic physical to ensure that you truly are in good health.

  • School. Before sending your child off to school, ensure that they are in good health with a physical exam.

What Is Included

Certified Clinicians

Our certified Clinicians will conduct a thorough physical exam of your child, so you can get your back-to-school physical exam form completed. By the end of your child’s physical exam, you’ll know that your child is in good health, or will have identified any potential areas of concern with a plan to support your child’s development and wellness.

The Importance of a Back-to-School Physical

There are a number of reasons to schedule a back-to-school physical for your child—the most important of which being your child’s overall wellness and development. Physical exams allow for a proactive approach to injury and illness prevention combined with a plan-of-action. A back-to-school physical also meets the requirement your school may have to ensure your child is healthy enough for school activities.

What Does a Back-to-School Physical Include?

A certified FastMed Clinician should ask you questions about your child’s medical history. From there, a head-to-toe exam should be conducted that includes a check of the following:

  • Blood pressure

  • Neck and chest

  • Lymph nodes

  • Heart and abdomen

  • Eyes, nose, ears and throat

  • Vision

  • Skin and muscles

  • Spine and joints
